The blue month
Native to the dry forests of north-west Argentina and Bolivia, where it has become rare, it is planted in every warm city in the world for its ten days of blue.
Its flowering comes before the leaves and needs a cool, fairly dry winter: watered too much in the cold season, the tree stays green and skips its bloom.
