The fern that forgives nothing
A fern of shaded South American banks, it grows where the air stays saturated: on seeping rock and within reach of waterfalls.
A rootball forgotten for a single day is enough to crisp every frond; you can then cut the whole plant back, and steady humidity pushes out new croziers.
"Nothing ever dries where it comes from."
Styling Tip 01
A bright bathroom
Diffuse light with no direct sun, and air humidity that never falls below sixty per cent.
Styling Tip 02
Never a dry rootball
Water with rainwater or soft water, keeping the mix permanently moist without drowning it.
Styling Tip 03
Cut back, don't bin
If every frond has crisped, cut two centimetres above the mix and keep watering.
