The lord of the oases
Cultivated for over four thousand years, the Date Palm structures the oases of southern Tunisia such as Tozeur and Kebili, where the Deglet Nour variety is renowned worldwide.
It forms the upper storey of the three-tiered oasis farming system, sheltering fruit trees and vegetable crops in its shade.
